Revelo
Draft terms

Work delivered, or your money back

Every paid deal on Revelo is held in escrow. Brands get what they paid for. Talent gets paid for what they deliver.

These terms are a draft and haven't had a legal review yet.

Revelo Guarantee

What you can count on

Brands
  • Your money is held by Revelo, not paid to the talent, until you approve the work.
  • If nothing is delivered by 3 days after the agreed end date, claim your money back in one tap.
  • Not what was agreed? Ask for changes, or report a problem and the Revelo team decides.
  • If you cancel before any work is handed in, the full amount comes back.
Artists & creators
  • The brand has to put the money in Revelo before you start. You never work on a promise.
  • Hand in the agreed work and the brand can't cancel to take the money back.
  • If the brand doesn't review your work within 5 days, it's approved automatically and you're paid.
  • Disagree about whether the work was right? The Revelo team looks at the contract, the work and the chat, then decides.

How it works

  1. 1

    Agree

You match, chat, and sign the contract Revelo generates. The price, deliverables and dates are written down.

  2. 2

    Fund

The brand pays into the deal. Revelo holds it. Nobody can touch it until the work is settled.

  3. 3

    Deliver

The talent hands in the work in the deal room. The brand approves it or asks for changes.

  4. 4

    Settle

Approved work pays out to the talent (less the Revelo fee). Work that never arrives goes back to the brand.

Music

Your music stays yours

  • Revelo is the go-between, not a label or publisher. We take no ownership, licence or rights in anyone's music.
  • When an artist adds a song they confirm they can share it, say if it's released, and say who else has a say (label, publisher, co-writers, samples).
  • A brand can't use a song at all until the artist approves where and when in writing: the exact place, the dates and the territory.
  • If a label, publisher or co-writer is involved, the artist confirms they've cleared that use with them before approving. If nobody else is, their own approval is all it takes.
  • An approval covers only that use. Use it anywhere else, or after it ends, and the artist can take it back.
  • Unreleased songs stay confidential and can't be used before their release date.
  • The artist is only paid out once they've approved a use.

What a refund gives back

Most refunds return every cent. There is one case where they don't, and it isn't a Revelo charge: card companies keep their cost for taking a payment even when that payment is later cancelled.

  • Nothing was delivered. Every cent goes back to the brand. Revelo carries the card company's cost.
  • The work was late or the talent pulled out. Every cent goes back to the brand.
  • Both sides agreed to stop. Every cent goes back to the brand.
  • The brand called off a funded deal. The brand gets back what it paid, less the card company's cost for taking the payment. Card companies keep that whether or not a payment is later cancelled, so it cannot be returned. The exact figure is shown before the cancellation is confirmed.
  • The Revelo team decided it. The team sets the share and nothing extra is deducted.

When there's a disagreement

Either side can report a problem on a funded deal. The money freezes, and the Revelo team reads the contract, the work and the chat, then picks one:

  • Refund the brand. Work wasn't delivered, or wasn't what the contract said.
  • Pay the talent. Work was delivered as agreed.
  • Split it. Some of it was done. The Revelo team sets the share, and both sides see the reason.

What isn't covered

  • Deals, messages or payments arranged outside Revelo. We can only protect what we can see.
  • Results nobody promised in the contract, such as views, sales or streams, unless the contract says so.
  • Work that was delivered as agreed but that the brand later changes its mind about.

The fine print

  • Keep the whole deal on Revelo: chat, contract and payment. Sharing contact details, links to other apps or asking to pay outside Revelo is blocked, and it can void protection and lead to a paused account.
  • Use the deal room for changes. Anything agreed elsewhere isn't something we can enforce.
  • Raise problems promptly in the app. Once the money is released or refunded, the deal is closed.

The Revelo fee comes out of the talent's payout. A decision by the Revelo team on a disagreement is final for that deal. These terms may change; deals already funded keep the terms they started with.
