Terms of Service
The rules for using Revelo, in plain English. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. What Revelo is
Revelo is a marketplace that connects artists, creators, street teams, brands, event organizers and agencies. We match people, give them a place to chat and agree a deal, generate a contract for them to sign, hold the payment, and help settle problems.
Revelo is not a party to the deals people make with each other, and is not anyone's employer, agent or manager. People who work through Revelo are independent contractors. We do not guarantee that any particular deal, audience, sales or results will happen.
2. Who can use Revelo
You must be 18 or older. By creating an account you confirm that you are, that the information you give is true, and that you will keep it up to date. One person, one account.
- Street team members must pass an ID check before they can take gigs. We use a third-party provider (Stripe Identity) for this. See the Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, are fake, or put others at risk.
3. Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your login safe. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.
4. Fees and plans
Joining Revelo is free, for everyone. We earn when a paid deal completes: we keep a service fee from the talent's payout, and the exact fee is written into the contract before anyone signs. Deals already funded keep the fee they started with.
Subscription plans. We reserve the right to add subscription plans, and to change their price, what they include and their terms, at any time. We will not charge you for a plan you have not agreed to, and we will tell you about a change that affects a plan you already pay for.
Cancelling. If you are not happy, or would rather not pay, you can cancel a paid plan at any time. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee, and no strings attached.
Refund when you cancel. We refund the unused part of the current month, worked out by the day. The exception: if a deal went ahead during that month (a contract was signed), that month is not refundable, and you keep your plan until the end of it.
When a paid deal is completed, Revelo keeps a service fee of 10% of the deal amount (the figure in force when the contract is drafted is written into the contract). The fee comes out of the talent's payout. Taxes may apply.
5. Deals and contracts
When two people both say yes, a deal room opens. Revelo generates a contract from the details of the campaign. Nothing is binding until both sides have signed it in the app. Typing your full name and ticking the box is your legal electronic signature, and you agree to do business electronically.
Changes to the deal must be agreed in the deal room. The brand can ask for up to two rounds of changes to delivered work; after that it approves the work or reports a problem.
6. Payments, escrow and the guarantee
Payments go through our payment provider (Stripe). When a brand funds a deal, the money is held by Revelo until the work is approved. We do not store card numbers.
Revelo Guarantee: while a deal, its messages and its payment stay on Revelo, (a) the brand cannot cancel and take the money back once work has been handed in, (b) if nothing is delivered 3 days after the agreed end date the brand can claim a refund, (c) if the brand does not review submitted work within 5 days it is approved and the talent is paid, and (d) if there is a disagreement, either side can report a problem and the Revelo team will decide whether to refund the brand, pay the talent, or split the amount. The details are on the Revelo Guarantee page. Our decision on a reported problem is final for that deal, to the extent the law allows.
Talent are paid out to their connected payout account. We may delay or withhold a payout if we need to verify identity, comply with the law, or investigate fraud. Chargebacks and reversals may be deducted from balances.
7. Keep deals on Revelo
Revelo only protects what happens on Revelo. Our fee and our protection are how Revelo works, so you agree not to use Revelo to find people and then move the deal, the payment or the conversation elsewhere to avoid them.
- Do not share emails, phone numbers, social handles, links to other platforms or other ways of contacting you in chat, reviews, work notes, bios or descriptions. We block these automatically.
- Do not ask or pressure anyone to pay or work outside Revelo.
- [For counsel: decide whether to add a rule that deals with people you met through Revelo must continue to be completed through Revelo for a fixed period, e.g. 12 months.]
- Breaking this rule can lead to losing the Revelo Guarantee on that deal and to your account being paused or closed.
8. Your content
You own what you upload (songs, photos, posts, profile text). You give Revelo a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display and play it as needed to run the service, for example showing your profile and songs to brands. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in deal records we must keep.
You promise you have the rights to what you upload.
9. Music and who owns it
Revelo is the go-between for brands and artists. Revelo is not a record label, publisher or licensing agent, and it takes no ownership, licence or other rights in anyone's music. The artist keeps all rights in their songs, recordings and compositions.
When an artist adds a song they confirm they have the right to share it here, whether it is released or not, and who else has a say in it (a label, a publisher, co-writers or producers, or the owners of samples). Revelo does not check who owns a song.
- A brand cannot use a song at all unless the artist approves that specific use in writing through Revelo: where it will be used, when (start and end dates) and in which territory. An approval covers only that use. Any other use needs a new approval.
- Where someone else has a say in the song, the artist must clear each use with them before approving it, and confirms that when they approve. This is the artist's responsibility, not Revelo's.
- An unreleased song cannot be used, shared or published before its release date and must be kept confidential until the artist says otherwise.
- Any licence exists only between the artist and the brand, and only as the contract and the written approvals say. An artist can take back an approval if a brand uses the song in a way that was not approved.
- Payment for a music licensing deal is released only after the artist has approved at least one use.
10. What you must not do
Use Revelo to:
- break the law, or break other people's rights (copyright, privacy, publicity);
- harass, threaten, scam, impersonate or mislead anyone, or create fake accounts or fake reviews;
- upload malware, or anything illegal, hateful, sexual involving minors, or violent;
- scrape, probe or interfere with the service, or avoid our limits and protections;
- use the service if you are under 18.
11. Reviews, reports and moderation
People can leave reviews after a deal and report people or messages. We review reports and may remove content, pause accounts or close accounts. We may keep a record of blocked messages and reports to keep people safe.
12. Keeping your word
Revelo only works if people do what they agreed. We keep an internal record of how deals end: work delivered and approved, work that never arrived or arrived too late, funded deals called off, problems decided against you, and payments reversed through a bank. It is not a public rating and nobody else sees it.
Repeatedly letting people down limits what you can do here. We may cap how many deals you can run at once, stop you taking on new ones, pause your account or close it. Serious or deliberate cases, such as taking payment with no intention of delivering, or reversing a payment for work you accepted, can mean removal straight away, and a paid plan does not protect you from this.
You can see your own standing and the deals behind it in your account at any time. If you think a mark is wrong, tell us and we will look again: the team can and does remove them.
13. Ending your account
You can delete your account from your account page. We cannot delete it while money is being held for you, you have deals in progress, or a dispute is open. If you have finished deals with other people, the signed contracts, delivered work and reviews stay on their side as a record, under the name "Deleted user". Closing a paid plan does not refund the current period.
We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (payment, liability, disputes) continue after your account ends.
14. Our rights
Revelo, its name, design and software belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you any right to them except to use the service as intended.
15. Disclaimers and liability
Revelo is provided "as is". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not responsible for the content, quality or results of any deal.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Revelo is limited to the fees you paid to Revelo in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. [For counsel: confirm the limits and any consumer carve-outs.]
16. Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [State, e.g. Delaware]. [For counsel: dispute resolution (courts or arbitration), venue, class action waiver, and local consumer rights.]
17. Agencies acting for someone else
An agency can create a profile for an artist or creator it represents and act for them on Revelo: chat, agree and sign contracts, deliver work, approve or decline the use of their music, and receive their payments.
Before it does, the agency confirms that it holds that person's explicit, written consent to market them and to make deals on their behalf, and that it will give us a copy on request. The agency is responsible for that consent, for staying within it, for passing on what the person is owed, and for ending the profile if the consent is withdrawn or ends.
We may ask for the written consent at any time, and may pause or remove the profile, and the agency's access to it, if it is not provided, is withdrawn, or the person says they did not agree. [For counsel: the agency's indemnity to Revelo and to the person, and what happens to deals in progress when consent ends.]
18. Changes
We may update these terms. When the change matters, we will ask you to accept the new version before you continue. Deals already funded keep the terms they started with.
